Thursday night...February 12, we ended up at the Artwalk.  That night I was able to drag Bayley and Raena out.  The crowded streets were a bit much but we found refuge in one gallery that had artwork inspired by Grammy Award winning recording artists, as well as other random subjects.  We were in a hurry to try to beat the crowds at nearby restaurants, so I didn't get the names of the talented artists who created these amazing pieces.  Duh, I know, :) enjoy these mobile uploads anyways...

A closer look at Jay-Z...The medium used were old records.

My battery is low, so I'll be finishing up this post in a few...to be continued... :)

The wireless I jack from a couple of my neighbors hasn't been available until now.  So I'll be playing catch up today.  And believe it or not, it's a busy day today, so I'm going to make this short and sweet.

Tuesday:  Went to Blossom in downtown, yes Blossom again, with my friend Mylah.  As usual the food was great.  We ordered pho of course, and a Lemongrass Steak dish, oh yes, and a chicken dish.  EVERYTHING was YUMMY!

Iced coffee with condensed milk, Thai iced tea and Mylah drinking the ginger iced tea pictured above. :)

Later than night, I joined my neighbors and a few other friends at the Candor Studios on Fairfax.  We saw 6 great, funny as shit comedians.  It was standing room only.  We decided to stay in the room with the projector  a) we were already comfortably seated on the leather sofa, and b) because that was where the free beer and wine was being served.

I forget her name, but she is a Puerto Rican Comedian, so Google and research if you want.

That was my Tuesday.  I'd have to say a good chill day and night.  Always great to end an evening with laughs.

Wednesday:   It started out meeting with Jack Oat and his assistant from www.musiceditingonline.com.  I met him through a mutual friend Fannius in hopes for a position at his company in the near future.  I'll keep you posted! :)    After that, to be honest I didn't do anything but stay home, clean, and watch the remainder of season 1 of Gossip Girl and a movie called "Poolhall Junkies."  The concept was good, the acting, not so much.

Anyhoots, I'm gonna get outta here.  Deciding if I should go to the Artwalk in downtown or Crown Bar in WeHo.  I guess you'll find out by the end of the week.

Until then. XOXO.

Today I woke up and again scrolled through my phone's address book.  In the midst of the scrolling,  my friend Silvana BBM'ed me asking if I wanted to go downtown to the fabric store. YES! I exclaimed!  I didn't really "exclaim" but I've always wanted to...Anyways,  the plan: After her trip to the dentist, bank and picking up another one of our pals, Natalie, we met at Silvana's apartment.  Natalie was putting together a dining table chair as Silvana watched.  I then joined as a spectator to observe Natalie attempt this tremendous feat.  Low and behold! She did it! Should we move on to the next chair?  Nah... We then made moves to downtown, and here are our mobile-uploads:

Entering the concrete jungle of Los Angeles.

Natalie was craving Chinese food, so we decided on "Wokano's"  but ended up at "Full House" on Hill in Chinatown.  Check out the fella's below.

These prawns were in their death tank.  :( My phone's camera didn't do them justice, they are actually beautiful looking sea creatures. I mean...jus' sayin'.

After I watch Silvana and Natalie eat lunch (I had a filling breakfast, so again I was a spectator) we head to  "Blossom" on Main St. known for their amazing pho, for coffee and tea.

Silvana drinking their ginger hot tea. It kinda burns the back of your throat so beware, but yum!

Natalie had the thai iced tea, and I the hot coffee with condensed milk.

So now back to the original plan, the fabric store.  As we drive south on Los Angeles Bvd. towards the garment district, we notice Silvana had opened up shop, a luggage shop to be exact. Interesting.

The sign for the store wasn't ready,  so this will have to do for the time being.

Yes, the fabric store!  It was so huge, I was overwhelmed, as with other huge things.

After money spent for things I didn't need, we took Natalie home, and schlepped back to good ol' Hollywood.  Time flew by super uber fast.  Did I say uber?  Yes I did.  I ended the day watching the "Godfather." I'll probably end the evening with "Gossip Girl."  Yea you read it correctly, "Gossip Girl" the first season. XOXO!

Hiatus: noun (hi-a-tus)
1. A gap, a suspension, an interruption in the intensity in space, time or continuity.
2. A slight pause that occurs when two immediately adjacent vowels in consecutive syllables are pronounced as in “reality” and “naïve”
3. A separation, aperture, fissure, or short passage in an organ or body part.

In my situation, the first definition applies. We call an interruption in our job/career status a hiatus, in the entertainment industry. It can be by choice or by force. In the case of hmmm…let’s say J.J. Abrams, Cate Blanchett, Michel Gondry, Kanye West amongst many more successful entertainment artists and/or executives, it’s by choice. As for myself and many, many, many, many others with less credits under our belts, force or lack of work is our story. So with that being said, I can justify my “Lebowski-esque” days thus so far and not feel so loser-ish.

Today I had lunch with a friend, who fortunately is blessed with a job, in this industry…unfortunately, his name was not Johnny, Brad or Kanye ☺ Anyways… I told him that I had exhausted my free time on the internet having researched everything I could from Apples to Zebras. After giggling at my predicament, which it’s not as cruel as you think.  This has been a natural occurrence in my life every year or every other year since I graduated from college, so he suggested I start a blog, for the following reasons.

A) it would keep me busy
B) it would get me out of my apartment and off the computer (other than to shoot out resumes and upload content onto this blog)
C) it’s something creative I can do to kill time (I guess creative would be subjective in this case)
D) everyone does it, so why not.

So here's my first entry. I can honestly say it’s kinda fun and waaaay more productive (as productive as one can be without a job, again subjective) than logging on to Facebook and Astrologyzone everyday. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I will still check my Facebook but just not as often. ☺

The day started with me waking up, and not wanting to get out of bed. I have no idea why, when I didn’t do anything last night but watch “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” and “Man On Wire” with my neighbors. Both were GREAT by the way, so NETFLIX them! Continuing with my day, I ended up rolling out of my warm comfortable bed around 11am followed by mass texts to a few of my people I haven’t seen in a minute to have lunch. Eureka! My friend that lives in Los Feliz took the bait! Thanks! But as I look back was it because I was a willing participant in driving him around to run errands… hmmmm, owell, it’s ok, I wasn’t doing anything anyways.  We had a delicious lunch at Pazzaz Sushi a fairly priced restaurant on Hyperion Ave. in Silverlake near  Trader Joe’s. Then walked to the “Coffee Table” around the corner on Rowena for, you guessed it...coffee. On the way back to the car, we made a few stops and with that being said...Here are my mobile-uploads for today:

A shoe repair shop with an infinite amount of styles for Converse.

Walking back to the car on Hyperion Blvd., the clouds caught one eye while the sun blinded the other.  Oh no worries, I'm ok now.

Chevron Station on Highland and Franklin.
On the road, back home.  Picked up my neighbor from work, since I don't have a job.  I just wanted to see how it felt driving to and from a workplace... I'm beginning to forget what that feels like.  I also tend to be more observant of the gas prices, being on a budget and all, so this photo seemed appropriate at the moment.
